Age Effect is a free Symbian app that will give you an idea of what you will look like in 30 years time!
In principle, Age Effect is a good idea, and it's quite exciting when you launch the app, see the start screen and wonder how you're going to look (or how your friend will look). You simply need to take a picture through Age Effect and adjust the zoom so that the subject's eyes and mouth line up with the outline displayed on screen. Then you need to indicate the sex of the person you're photographing.
Once you've done this, Age Effect will apply a filter to the photo that simulates the appearance of aging. In reality, unfortunately, the effect isn't very convincing and the app basically just applies the image of an old person's face over the top of the face you've photographed. The end result is an image of a face that looks wrinkled and distorted, but with no scientific rationale behind it.
The concept of Age Effect sounds great fun, but sadly, the end product is pretty disappointing.
